Traveling Toddler Car Seat Travel Accessory

 BUY THIS!!!
I can't believe that I almost bought that contraption from One Step Ahead. This was awesome. After reading the bad review about the woman who had the horrible experience, I was nervous. I was traveling alone with my 10-month old for the first time and had the jitters. I had to practice at home first and think the whole scenario through; Going through security was my biggest fear. Turns out, it wasn't bad at all, and mind you, I was at ATL, the busiest airport in the world.

Key points:

-I know they tell you to not let your child stay in the seat when you detach the strap...(in a whisper voice) they're just covering themselves. DO NOT remove your child unless there is someone to hold them. Mine would have crawled away immediately. All you have to do is keep one hand on the seat just in case it tips(mine didn't budge, but just in case) while you unhook the strap.

-Once I had it tightened to my liking, it took one hand to unhook the top and one side. Then I just tucked the whole thing, with one side still hooked(there's 3 rings) into my carseat.

-In a nutshell, security went like this: Unhooked TT from carseat(4 seconds), took liquids out of carry-on(2 seconds) Unbuckled backpack diaper bag off me (2 seconds). Then I took my son out of his seat and with one hand, was able to lift all of my items that were lined up next to each other(purse, diaper bag, liquids bag, carry-on bag, and carseat) onto the conveyor belt and in the bins in like 10 seconds. I even took my out my baby food, while bouncing my little guy in my arm. Of course it was more of an ordeal than if it was just me, but hey, I had baby. People and security understood and gave me consideration...well actually, I demanded it, I'll never see them again. I didn't allow myself to get flustered and it went fine.

-After I walked through, I just did everything in reverse. Took my items off the belt, strapped my little guy in, hooked my carry-on to the seat, and went on my merry way.

-It was even easier coming back because I felt seasoned.

So in conclusion(LOL)it took a little planning in my head before hand, but worked great!

I could make something better myself.
Great idea but needs altering. I would just use a click-locking tiedown strap instead. It would go tighter than this device I actually bought. The carseat would just barely drag on the ground when connected to the carry on. I had the anchors and latch as tight as they would go but it still wasn't tight enough from keeping the carseat from touching the ground unless you had the bag tilted so much that your back was breaking from your hand almost touching the ground. My husband just ended up carrying the carseat by hand the whole time!

Best thing EVER!
I flew standby from ATL to MEM with a 18 month old and a 6 week old by myself. (Yeah, I'm crazy). This carseat travel accessory save my sanity. It basically turned my suitcase into a stroller. I was able to have my toddler in the newly created "stroller" and carry my baby in a baby bjorn and remain hands free which is priceless. Plus, I didn't have to check any baggage which is a lifesaver when traveling standby.

I highly recommend this product. It is the best carseat travel accessory and the cheapest in price.

Simple, effective, ingenious
In each airport during our last trip, we had people mention what a great idea this was. I agree with them. This makes it easier to have more carry on baggage while traveling with a little one, which has already saved me enough checked baggage fees to justify the cost of the strap. It is hard to have a full size carry on if you're pushing a regular stroller. Besides, if you're lugging along the car seat for the child to use on the plane, then you may as well put it to good use in the terminal. Even if you are travelling with an infant on your lap, you can just check the car seat planeside. And, in either case, you can still check a stroller in your checked baggage for no cost. So I really didn't see any downside to this product.

LOVED the Traveling Toddler! Great for the parent traveling alone!
I ordered this product and was a little skeptical that it would actually work as well as others said it did. I am not a frequent airline traveler and wanted something to make navigating the airport easier but didn't want to spend a ton of money on some of the other products out there. I was blown away by this product! I used this product when I recently flew alone with my 1 year old son (22 lbs) and it was great. I used it with an Evenflo Triumph Advanced LX carseat and a 20" rolling carry on. Going through security was fairly easy though I did ask a nice woman for help rolling the carry on out of the way so I could hook it back up while I had my son, diaper bag, and carseat. I was stopped 8 times in the airports by other parents who were amazed and wanted to know where I got it. I don't know if I would recommend it for someone traveling alone on
